It's a side scroller maze. Each time you die you start over with basic weapons, and the map resets itself so it's never the same twice. You collect cells from creatures you kill, which can then be used for upgrades/skills/weapons at the end of the level. There are boss levels. Navigating isn't too hard (no tricky jumping required). Minimal story, but humorous. You will find rooms that is just the writers leaving something spooky to read (and some loot).
