When you don't have you phone on silent/vibrate, what ringtone do you use?

Because I'm a big geek, I am currently using this. And if I can figure out how to do it, this will be my text message alert sound.

Mine either vibrates, does nothing, or makes a ringing sound somewhat like a telephone.

I got the standard Sony Ericsson T68i ringtone. Meh.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

No surprise there.
You don't have permission to access /19711012/rock/tool/Prison_Sex.mid on this server.

Oh and gorickey, that is a tripod crappo link.

No vibration or sound here.

edit: You need to manually cut/paste gorickey's URL to your browser to get it to work.

Oh and gorickey, that is a tripod crappo link.
Just copy and paste it, apparently that server won't allow direct links.

Chicago - Does anybody really know what time it is?

I have a bunch of MIDIs online (kinda old, but they're good quality)

edit: and NO, I'm not the annoying guy with the crazy ringtones. I usually use vibrate.

My ringtone utterly lacks imagination and is annoying to others. I admit it.

I would have used this, but stupid Verizon blocks any way to transfer .mid files from my computer to my phone, so the only ringtones I could get would be the crappy premade ones they let you buy for $2 apiece on Get It Now. For that reason, I just use one of the standard boring ones that came with the phone...

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Does it work with Verizon phones?

I ask because it seems that a transfer cable alone is not enough for phones on Verizon. The guys at Verizon told me it wouldn't work, and the existence of applications like this tells me that it will not just work out of the box.

I tried making a 4 note custom ringer from GarageBand, but the MP3 was so quiet I couldn't hear it on my phone (I Maxed out the volume in GB without distorting it).

You have to hack Verizon phones.

You would need GAGIN or bitpim to make it work. Search for your phone at Yahoo Groups. If there's a group for it, you can usually get all the info you need to get started there.

If I had a phone, it will probably be some classic NES or SNES gaming music.

Speaking of which, is it possible with the T610 to set a ringer to a particular person in your contact list? Also, can you just have the phone play a random ring from your ring list?

Ringtones are stupid.
Ringtones are annoying.
They are not "kewl".
They are not "funny".
They are not "hip".

They're obnoxious, loud and obtrusive. When you're in public, set your damn phone to vibrate. No one else wants to hear your stupid camera phone bleating out some obscure Smiths song or the Simpson's theme. Really.
