No stars in the picture, none of them, he's only an expert at faking a moon landing.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic. If you're not, read below.

No stars because of the contrast between the REALLY BRIGHT moon in the foreground and the VERY BLACK space in the background. Film will not pick up any of the stars. Anyone with a basic knowledge of photography can tell you that.

And by the way, it'd be cheaper to actually go to the f*cking moon than it is to fake it.

There is no atmosphere on the moon, the brightness of the moon itself is not going to convince me of no stars in the background.

I have an advanced knowledge of photography... and I can guarantee, the photos were altered. NASA admitted as such, like they also doctor many of their photos. You don't really believe the GAS CLOUDS IN SPACE are colored naturally do you? (FILTERS)

Cheaper to go: Right. Why haven't we been "back"... 2015 slated to be back maybe... why?

Contrast. CONTRAST

Ever try to take a picture of the moon at night? How about of the night sky? Stars will NOT show up unless you expose the film for quite some time. The moon's surface is extremely reflective, not to mention the giant ball of fire we call the SUN.

Now if you have an extremely bright foreground and you're trying to take a picture of a reflective surface, tell me with your so called "advanced knowledge of photography," how long would you set your fstop for? Probably REALLY short! 60 maybe? If you tried to catch the stars in the background while mainting the foreground, then the image would be so overexposed you wouldn't be able to see anything except the stars in the background. Everything in the forground would be one giant white blob. So how in the hell is the background going to capture the light of most of the stars that are billion and sometimes trillions of miles away? It WON'T.

The ironic part is the conspiracy idiots love to use the picture of John Young soluting the flag with a huge "black" background. Except that you can actually SEE the orion constellation faintly in the background.

Oh for the love of... Those "doctored" images are called False Color Spectometry and Color Shifting. It allows us to "see" infrared and ultraviolet spectrums in addition to visible light. It can also tell us distance and even the speed of an object. Perhaps you've heard of doppler? Redshift and Blueshift?

When an object is moving away from you, the light emitted is "stretched" towards to the red spectrum. This is a redshift. When it's moving towards you, it's "compressed" towards the blue spectrum creating a blueshift.

Because people like you running the country. Why should we go back? We have a national deficit to worry about. Medicare. Democrats and Republicans at each others' throats over public education and Evolution. Squabbling about putting up or not putting up 10 commandments.

We're not in a "Space Race" anymore. We beat the Russians, that's what we wanted to do. The fact that we got to actually do something productive while we were there was a bonus. There's no economic incentive to do it anymore, especially in this economy.

I'm pretty damn sure Jesus Christ didn't miracle his ass to the moon and place retroreflective panels on the surface of the moon that we are shooting lasers at.

When was the last time you were on the moon taking a photo?

It's not the same as being on earth trying to take a picture of the moon....

Evolution, just like string theory, relativity, creationism and electromagnetism, is a theory, not a fact, and should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered.

actually i believe that you are wrong there. Many scientists talk about evolution and the fact that we, humans, decend from apes.

No even after much research work, evolution is still an unproven theory, and till now it never attained the mark of being a scientifically acceptable fact.

Yes space is vacuum but whenever you enter into the vicinity of some planet or a natural satellite, the environment changes abrubtly.

We used to have wind-storms on moon, as told by Neil Armstrong.

GET FREAKING REAL!! There is a ROD IN THE TOP IOF THAT FLAG YOU CRETIN!!! If you'd seen anything but that one picture, you'd have been able to notice Buzz Aldrin (nice guy!) assembling the flag pole-with a rod across the top to support the flag. In a few of the video shots it jiggled, and the material of the flag "rippled" for a bit. But as long as you didn't selectively edit the video to remove the pole being bumped, you could see that clearly.

Get a clue.

Fourth post (third reply). Take another look. No the videos aren't there, but the "I saw it ripple" still picture is. I saw them put the thing up on LIVE TV IN 1969. It was and is real.

You can't guarantee ANYTHING! I've actually seen the original negatives, and saw them scan them so they could have an electronic copy. The contrast was why you won't see stars. vacuum or not, you're talkin about how film reacts when struck by light.

Cool. Having been "a part of the Government" for a LONG time, I can promise you that there is NO WAY IN HELL that a secret of the size needed to fake a moon landing could ever stay secret long enough to even present it, let alone last for many years. Besides, I saw it happen. And having studied photography and cinematography for quite a while, I can categorically state that in 1969 the technology to fake all the video, motion picture and still photo evidence did not exist.

I have never understood the motivation behind people who think there was a reason to fake this in the first place...

This time when they go to the moon I hope they will scribble a huge "Hello mom!" so we can all see that from here using a cheap pair of binocs. I hate it when all the eggheads keep brining this crap about how it was all a set up in 1969.

It's simple ballistics, plus solving the problem of producing enough thrust to get the hardware there. Ballistics is the simple part, but Werner von Braun and his team found a way to make enough thrust with liquid oxygen and alcohol. Yes, we DID have the technology then, particularly after spending most of a decade developing manned spacecraft. The Apollo program was under way long before Mercury was done.
