I know.

I was being brief: Since drivers come with the hardware (this isn't Linux), hardware that includes badly written drivers is defective, i.e. broken. At least, that's how I treat it.

Does anyone know off the top of their head what a -600 error is and how to fix it?

Apparently, "No eligible process with specified process serial number". Good thing that's less cryptic ...

Mac OS System Error Codes: -299 to -5553

The problem is that Photobooth wouldn't quit. It would sit in the dock with the little arrow underneath and it would show up in the "force quit" window, but it wouldn't go away. It didn't show up in top (terminal) or the activity monitor so I couldn't kill it. That's the message I got when double clicking on the PB app.

I find sometimes I have to option force-quit something in the dock to kill it, even though it has the force-quit option available when I right-click the icon normally.

Ah, Finder. And here I was thinking the unexpected errors -600 didn't love me anymore after I moved to OS X-ville.
