Does anybody know which model is the GeForce4 MX card in the iMacs with 17inches screens?

The performance obtained from the different GF4 MX versions (420, 440, 460) is radically different.

Many thanks

AFAIK it's the GeForce2 MX420 with 32MB VRAM

You mean the GeForce4 MX 420 right?

Thatīs what my feeling as well, but I read somewhere that the GF4 MX 420 has SDRAM. However Apple claims the GF4 included in the iMacs uses DDR RAM.
The GeForce4 MX 420 is not too different from the GeForce2 MX in terms of performance.

Oops, typo. Of course I'm talkin' bout the GeForce4 MX
All I know for sure is that Apple used the slowest model available.

The GeForce4 MX is basically the same thing as a GeForce2 MX, anyway. Performance won't be dramatically different from the 15-inch iMac running an older, 32-megabyte GeForce2 with the 17-inch iMac.

I believe they're using the GeForce4 MX 420. Whatever they're using, it's built-in to the motherboard. It might not be a model of GeForce sold as a component.
