TiBook battery drain when asleep

I recently noticed that the battery in my 1Ghz TiBook drains about 2.5% every hour that it's asleep. I left it asleep for 4 hours and it woke up with 10% less juice left. I slept it for 17 hours and it woke up with 43% less.
I don't think this is normal. Nothing is plugged into the TiBook when it's sleeping and this seems to happen consistently.
Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions? I'm going to recalibrate the battery and, if that doesn't work, reset the PMU. Any other possibilities?

Hmm, well honestly, that's not too bad of a drain. I'd recalibrate as you suggested, but I highly doubt you've got a faulty battery, that actually sounds right in line w/ most normal results, including my own (12" PB).

My 12 drains 1.5% every hour, so that's not too bad. Do a PRAM reset and recalibrate your battery and see if that helps.

This actually does not sound normal to me. My 1GHz Ti drains about 1% every hour in sleepmodus.
You can use X-Charge (freeware, you can get it at macupdate.com and/or versiontracker.com) to monitor your battery, maybe this gives a little more insight...

Any chance that there is actually something using the processor while the PB is asleep? I didn't think such a thing was possible, but I'm still getting 2.5% drain for every hour the machine is asleep.

i think i'm getting about the same 2%/hour. the power is mainly used up in the memory. do you have both slots filled with 512? then you're bound to have a higher drain than a 867/256...

This number probably depends on the age of the battery, the amount of installed RAM, its manufacturer, etc.

Which version of 10.2 are you using. I have noticed higher power drain in sleep while using 10.2.8. I am assuming since it was pulled an update will out sometime soon.
