Was this thread really necessary....Isn't there a poll in here that ask's who has how much in their PB. Use the search bar, and you don't really need to do that either.....It's on the front page!

Little Effort
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

768 MB for now... might bump it up in the near future, but its suited me fine thus far, even for cpu/memory-intensive tasks.

Doesn't matter. As I've stated in many other threads:

YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH RAM!

You never know when some application you are using is hungry for more RAM.

Must depend on which game you are playing- I have 1.25GB in my 15" PB and I can play Rise Of Nations on mine and my memory will not "page out". I can't tell if the HD spins down during play though- that'd be cool hehe. I will see if I get the same behavior with War3 and Baldur's Gate II.

PS I always have Safari, Mail, iCal, and iTunes "open" (but with no application windows running), even when I game.

ditto 768 mb here. My tibook can only go up to 1 gb, so I'm going to save that last little speed boost for later. I still have a year left on the Apple Care.

I have 512 Mb in my 12".
I had 1Gb in my iMac, but I could not feel any difference from 512 to 1Gb, so when purchasing my PB I decided to go with the standard configuration.

No regrets so far.

1.25 GB of ram in my 15" Aluminum Powerbook.

An unforseen bonus to upgrading my ram was the goofy details i now see under About this Mac: 1.25GHz and 1.25 GB!!!!
