Is there an ADC card that will work in my AGP 4X slot? What is my best option here, do I have even have options?

This is for a dual 500 mhz g4 sawtooth.

Be aware the Sawtooth is only 2x AGP.

1) Your Sawtooth has a 2x slot, not a 4x.
2) The Radeon 9000 Pro, as suggested above, does not support CoreImage.

The only CoreImage supporting card with ADC that will work in a G4 is the 9700 Pro OEM. It is incredibly rare and only works in the MDD G4s.

Did dual processor Sawtooths exist?? I thought the first dual-processor G4s were Gigabits (which still has a 2x AGP slot)... but still.

If it's a Dual, it's a Gigabit Ethernet.

Nope. You could try flashing a 5200, but they suck. I'd suggest getting a 9600 for cheap, and a DVI-ADC adaptor. The 9600 will work with only two small pieces of scotch tape, as shown here:

http://www.techseekers.net/modules.p...wcontent&id=71

If you want more speed, get a 9600XT. That's what I did.

yeah, I guess it is a gigabit ethernet. I always thought it was just the case style that made it a sawtooth. Great little machine though, I'd like to keep her humming along. I'll look into the 9600, Rob. Thanks guys.

The 9600 mod only works for AGP 4x, so you're out of luck. And even if it could work for your 2x slot, the ADC port would not receive any power so the only way to use it would be with a DVI display and an ADC-DVI converter.

Your best bet for something with ADC is the GeForce 4 Titanium.

Wait so you are saying if i get Radeon® 9800 PRO Mac Special Edition,

http://www.ati.com/products/radeon98...eme/index.html

that i cant use a ADC CRT or LCD (M). I know they cost more, but that what im looking at. Or do i have to buy the adapter. Can i will use the power for other things. But will i be able to see the ripple at least once on this card and my old Apple 17" New Form Factor Flat CRT Studio Display (ADC), and soon to buy 22' LCD Studio display ADC

The external Apple DVI-to-ADC boxes ($99) states specifically that it does not work with the Apple CRT-based Studio Display with the ADC connector, regardless of what video card its connected to. The adapter will, however, work with any of the Apple ADC-based LCD Studio Displays.

The Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition otherwise is fully supported by Core Image and will support all its effects on your PowerMac (regardless of your machine's AGP slot speed).

The retail 9800 Pro has one (analog) VGA port and one DVI-I port (DVI-I will run a DVI digital display or an analog VGA display via its included 50¢ adapter). In summary - one digital display + one analog VGA display, or two analog displays.

(edited for clarity)

The 9800 pro SE only works with a G5 as it is AGP 8x only. The regular 9800 pro works at AGP 2x and 4x but does not come with an ADC port.
