Seems this white-spot problem still exists even on new Powerbooks.. this is a photo of a white screen on my 1.67ghz 15" Powerbook (roughly 3 months old):
That vertical white line right-of-center just showed up in the past week or so (I think). Definitely looks like the infamous white spot problem, eh? I haven't taken it in to show an Apple tech yet, but I will soon. Not too happy about it.

[Staring at new 12" G4 PBook with deer-in-headlights-expression]: White spots? Should I be worried?
Edit: Deleted stupid question.

Hi recently sent my 1.67 back for a fairly small white spot (about the size of a dime). Apple replaced the dispaly with a new Samsung display ( per service report ).
Still under original parts warranty. No questions or problems.

Call them/go to an apple store to get a definative answer.
I think based upon Apple's prior statements regarding the white spots they should but that was some time ago, so I have no idea if their pledge to correct defective units is still in effect, so the best thing is to go to the source.
