You read it right. Apple today cut prices on its hot-selling 512mb and 1GB iPod Shuffles. The cuts make each $69 and $99 with free shipping and engraving. If you bought one in the past few days, check for a credit.

I just saw this too. I was actually worried that they were going to get rid of the shuffle.

At that price it's tempting to get the 512 just for the heck of it.

512MB = $99

Prior to June 2005, the 1GB model sold for $149.

^ Amazingly, yes.

If you go through as if you're going to purchase one, it'll show you an example. They engrave it on the SIDE of the shuffle, not the back like they do normal iPods.

I've been needing a flash drive (still, in 2006, I do not own a USB-flash drive!) and can't find an armband for my 60GB iPod video...the ones out there are nearly $35 anyway.

Hmmmmmmm.......

EDIT: I bit. Amazon.com has them at the reduced rates also, combined with 5% off of these new prices by using "CECUSTAPPRCT" code at checkout (plus free 2-day shipping for me on my Amazon Prime trial!) and NO TAX made it a winner.

Total was $65.45 w/ free 2-day shipping. Also, that includes another $1.04 off for the "A9" discount you get activated after searching their A9 engine for like a week.

Just a question here:

With the 1Gig iPod Nano, is this to make a way to drop the Shuffle? If you think about it, this may be a better way to go. Or is it that the Shuffle line stays so as to allow consumers an under C note variety of iPod?

^ Most likely the Shuffles won't be around at the end of 2006, at least in their current state.
