I've been farting around trying to get my adaptec 2930 working in my sawtooth under 10.4.6. Some of the solutions I've seen on line involve removing alternately the adaptec29xx-2930.kext (or something like that) or the adaptec78XXSCSI.kext files. Well, after moving the adaptect78xxSCSI.kext file and then trying to put it back, after the next boot, I get a message saying that the extension isn't properly insalled and needs to be reinstalled.

How do you install kext files aside from just putting them in the extensions folder?

OK, I just had to repair permissions and it worked fine. I just wish someone would write a good driver for the 2930.
