I've linked to his blog - No, Dave, it’s just you Blog Archive How good is your color?, not the images directly, because he went to the effort of putting the images together.

As far as I can tell from the description, I have a 24 bit screen on my 15 MBP, I could of course be interpreting t wrong.

Anyone else?
I have Mac

I think his test images would only "work" (that is, discriminate between 6/18 and 8/24 bit) on displays that use spatial dithering (like some apps did long ago on 256 color monitors, or like Palm got busted for with the class action suit over the m130). The MB/MBP are reported to use temporal (time domain) dithering.

This is really becoming a tired topic. I personally checked the display model of my old MBP and, like all other MBPs, it is a 6 bit display that accomplishes the 'million color' claim through dithering. If you go to any of Apple's LCD suppliers (AUS, CHimei and Samsung) you'll see that except for one or two very large displays, their laptop displays are ALL the same. None of them display 16.7 million colors. None.
