I know of some GUI bug which produces a similar result, but I've never seen it in Mail before. When I get home I'll try and see if I can reproduce it.

Which begs the question: how do you do it?

I'm sorry to say that, try as I might, I can't reproduce this. Not in the preview pane, not in a separate window. Not when I scroll by clicking on the arrows, not when I use the arrow keys, not when I use the scroll bar. Not with long mails, not with short mails, not with RTF formatted mails, not with plain text mails.

Perhaps it's a system-related phenomenon; I'm on a DP 500, and we've got a host of other trouble, like inadvertently travelling back to 1969 or 1970. It's a funny old Mac.

Now there's a thought: I've got an ATI something or other and a CRT.

Hey! Anyone with a RADEON experiencing this problem?

Haha 2 Hollanders op een Mac forum. Ik denk zomaar niet dat er gauw gereageerd gaat worden. Behalve misschien hierop.

no it is not radeon (I found out)

When your window has 2 parts like Mail has... resize the parts (not the window!) and then scroll (again no window resizing)
