Are there any superdrives that won't work with iDVD as long as its installed internally? Anyone got the inside scoop on a good deal? I'm pretty out of it hardware wise these days. I've got a sawtooth g4. What's a good speed? Price?

If you want to ensure compatability through all of Apple's apps and OSes, get a Pioneer DVR-107. Same drive Apple ships with the G5.

You could also get a Pioneer DVR-108, which is not fully supported yet but as it will almost certainly be the next drive that Apple uses, you can count on it getting support.

you can get an Apple rom DVR-106 from OWC for like $70. They're brand new and will work with all of the iApps.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
