I am planning to but a Cube really soon (before the MWNY). What graphics card would you recommend for some Movie editing and heavy game playing?.
Radeon is newer and has DDR RAM, but Ive heard wonders of the GeForce2.
Thanks

I haven't heard a single good thing about the Mac GF2. The Radeon kicks it. Get one.
I don't suppose I can talk you out of the Cube?

Search the forums. This issue has been debated vigorously in quite a few threads already. And the reality is that posting here you're going to get people swearing that one card is substantially better than the other <paraphrase> b/c they have that card and it rocks, yeah! </paraphrase>
IMO both cards are great, will give you the best FPS you've ever experienced in Mac-based gaming, and any differences that exist really come down to what your personal priorities are. I just bought a Cube/500/Radeon myself b/c i needed the best 2D and 3D performance and didn't mind hacking a new (read: quieter) fan onto the card. I also read every single one of the Radeon-GeForceMX2 reviews before purchase (ex: Barefeets, Xlr8YourMac, etc) and every single one of the debate threads on the two cards here.
Subsequently here's a layman/general overview:
GeForce:
+ No fan/added noise for Cube
+ Higher FPS in games <= 1024x768
+ Default Apple high-end graphics card
- Current drivers exhibit some rendering irregularities in certain games/apps
Radeon
+ Superior 2D (copybits) performance
+ Better 32bit performance
+ Higher FPS in games > 1024x768
+ DDR (faster) RAM
+ Can be purchased as a separate Cube video kit
- Fan noise

Thanks a lot to all the posters, specially speedracer. Radeon is the choice.

Great choice
The Radeon has better frame rates at high resolutions while the GF2MX has better at low. I also researched before I bought my Radeon. It is definatly the best bet.

PS: Just wanted to note that i have a Radeon-powered Cube and am having rather signficant graphic abnomalities playing Oni at high resolutions/depths (see my thread in the Gaming forums for details) as well as random blips and burps, stalls, and burps in other games. So, as a point of reference, strange graphics abnormalities are not limited strictly to the GeForce2.

I'm sure the Geforce2mx will come up to par once Nvidia gets the hang of making mac drivers. ATi has has more experience.
