Hello!

I'm a new member of the MacNN SETI Team and since this morning i have a problem.

My following configuration is:
Power Mac G4 Quicksilver 733MHz (MPC7450), 256kb L2C, w/o L3C.
640MB RAM, 40GB HD, Mac OS X v10.4.2 (8C46).

Measured floating point speed 1082.46 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 2994.87 million ops/sec

My BOINC/ SETI config:
BOINC CLI client 4.44 superbench from this page: http://members.dslextreme.com/~reade...eam/boinc.html
i renamed it to boinc, droped it in BOINCManager.app/Contents/Resources and override the existing file.

And the setiathome-4.18.ppc7450-apple-darwin-vdsp-alpha-1/ app_info.xml, taken from there: http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=266339, droped in Library/Application\ Support/BOINC\ Data/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/.
The older setiathomexxx file is deleted.

The new alpha version of SETI runs great, twice as fast as the BOINC SETI Worker compiles provided by javalizard

Here are my results: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/resul...userid=8169359

The three newer ones are the alpha version, the two older ones are the javalizard version.

But now, since this morning the BOINC Manager shows me: Won't get new work

What did i do wrong?

Thanks
Karl

Karl Welcome.

Apparently your computers are hidden so can't view your link to results. Can you post the "exact error message" with a couple of lines above and below? Could just be another SETI Network issue as noted on their front page. Expect upload and download problems for a while longer. When Alpha testing, exact messages are important including some of which proceeds and follows the errror.

It would be best to report any problems with the Alpha SETI app in that thread, rather then start a new thread. The developers aren't part of the team, but have subscribed to that thread. They won't be aware of other threads though. http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=266339

Hello Shaktai,

my computers are hidden? Wired

In my SETI prefs is "Should SETI@home show your computers on its web site?" Yes.
How can i unhide?
I made two screenshots, one from "Projects". My status is "blank" ?

And one from "Massages".

Are this the "exact error message" you mean?

And one second question:

On "my computers" are now two computers(why?), but these are one and the same. How can i get theses computers to one, again?

Thanks
Karl

EDIT: "my computers" problem solved. Merge

Yes, that is it. The messages tab. All that indicates is that your computer has insufficient work and is trying to get more. Try restarting BOINC and then see what happens. Get a screenshot of the messages from message tab after that, if it doesn't start downloading. (Wish they would fix the cut and paste for Macs).

Hopefully the restart will fix it. On some Macs, the Advanced GUI has a problem where you might have to restart the computer to get it to work. Mine does that.

After restart (app and Mac), no changes, unfortunately.

Here the screenshot:

Maybe you're right about the SETI network issue?
Are you getting work from SETI?

I can't send results now and of course can't get new work as well. I believe the BOINC servers at Berkeley have been having problems for over a week now.

I'm running BOINC Manager 4.43
1) Einstein@Home
2) ProteinPerdictor
3) SETI@home

As of last night, all SETI's splitters were turned off. No new work for anyone.

This morning, they are running again. You should be able to get work now.
