Perhaps I'm just venting, but what is the story with SETI's continous power outages and server crashes?
I've never seen servers crash so frequently in my life.

Is anyone else enjoying this frustration?

I know the feeling.

BTW - you can adjust how many days worth of WU downloaded:

BOINC=>Advanced=>Preferences=>Network Usage=>Additional Work Buffer

10 days is the max!

The servers are up, but the work is in short supply.

Power supply problems are to do with building works near to the SAH labs. When they have to switch off for biulding work reasons, SAH has to go down.

As to the servers, I think we have to remember that SAH is still seriously short of cash and relies on donated equipment, so its not top line with full manufactures back up. That said it is a complex set up and the intro of the new wu's, probably in a few days time, is going to create more problems for sure, as they transition and settle down.

Thank you for the insight. It's a good inspiration to make a donation.

Were're having problems with one our servers. We'll be down until someone can get into the lab to fix it.
And I just ran out of work on my machines.

Somehow I find SETI a curse, everytime when I'm close to running out of workunits and wanting to reload, available WUs are always drained...
