UK soldier, loyal dog, make final journey together
"LONDON -- The body of a British soldier shot dead in Afghanistan was being flown home Thursday - alongside the loyal dog who died of a seizure after his handler was killed. Lance Cpl. Liam Tasker, a dog handler with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, was killed in a firefight with insurgents in Helmand Province last week. Theo, his bomb-sniffing springer spaniel, suffered a fatal seizure hours later at a British army base."

As did I. I make no apologies.

Definitely. Saw it this morning and definitely started the day off right. Not in a "glad it happened" way, but in a "loyalty is awesome" way.

[EDIT] I might need to clarify... I love dogs, and think they're about 100x more loyal than any non-family member could ever be. It just seems fitting that they're coming home together, for better or worse. Definitely sorry about the loss for the soldier's family.

I read it as intended, but for some reason "seizure" isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of a feel-good story.

this isn't touching or feel-good. they both die; this isn't Romeo and Juliet.

this is far more touching:
Dog Saves Other Injured Dog Lying On A Highway (VIDEO)

and they both live. dog's got grit

or the second dog was just hungry.

I'll be an optimist and go with the first choice.

Still think my "feel-good story" is the greatest double entendre in the history of macnn
