these should probably be lumped into one thread, imo.

Not yet. It looks like it will go that way but no one (CNN, ABC, NBC, etc.) has called Florida for Obama yet.

It doesn't even matter if Ohio holds if you're right. All Obama needs at this point is 197, because California, Oregon and Washington are 73 electors basically in Obama's pocket. Florida gives him 201 even without Ohio.

They don't have the totals? We have them right off the machines in EVERY county in FL :0)
No campaign has been this organized before, it will be close and unless provisionals are needed it will be in the bag.

I suppose, but it's been in the bag for months now.

Yep. Pretty much the day after McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Before then. It was won when Obama stomped Billary.

Don't call FL too early, that's the lesson we learned in 2000. There's still time for Pat Buchanan to come back and win this thing....

That's what I was thinking...

P.S. Back in 2000 I thought they were premature when they called it. I remember seeing it on TV and thinking WTF? Other stations were not willing to call it... and as we all know, for good reason.

I remember when Bush came on CNN after they called Florida for Gore, and basically told them they were full of it. I remember thinking that was quite ballsy, and that he would look like an idiot if he was wrong.

Little did we know that he was an idiot either way....

It's over for McCain in FL. The remaining counties that still needs to be counted, are voting overwhelming for Obama.

Katie Couric didnt do too well tonight, she didnt seem sharp. I flipped to Fox and the creepy Sheppard Smith. I thought he was fair and balanced, then they brought in Ralph Nader because Nader said something like "Will Obama be an Uncle Sam to the american people, or an Uncle Tom cowtowing to global corporations" (paraphrase)... Nader was awkwardly grilled on it and he didnt back down... kind of weird to focus on Nader for even 10 minutes, but hey, its Fox.

I dont have cable, and get HD over bunny ears... but NBC and PBS werent coming in (as always) so I was down to Fox or CBS... creepiness or mediocrity.

WTF vmarks? More infractions from you for my VA thread, while this thread gets a go?

Tell me you are not after me. I had more to say than villalobos who started the tread and say game over.

Devoid of content and opinion?

Yeah, my opinion is that VA is going to go for Obama. Did you not watch the news that the three battleground states McCain needs to win is VA, OH, and FL?

Maybe I need to add the words "Game Over" in my thread?

Oh vmarks. Maybe you should've locked all the Zogby poll threads and give all the thread starters infractions too. They are "devoid of content and has no real opinion or instruction on how to guide discussion of the original point."

Oh by the way.

Obama takes FL, VA, and OH.

Actually, your post was devoid of content and lacked an opinion, a clear rule 8 violation. These two threads which merged into one had opinions in their originating posts. "Game over" is brief, but tells us how the discussion should proceed. Yours failed in that regard.

If you want to complain, this isn't the place. Take it to the feedback forum.

Back on topic, please.

Yes, my opinion is that VA will be close, but will swing over to Obama.

villalobos opinion is that it's game over for McCain.

Yet, I get infractions for expressing my opinion? Nice.

What if I started a thread last night saying: it'll be a landslide victory for Obama.

Would I get banned?

Making projections are now forbidden in this forum? Or only projections I make?
