hi there, i would want to know if someone actually upgraded a video card in his mac pro. my understanding is that virtually any graphics card with mac os x drivers would work or wouldn't it?

mine is nvidia 7300 in mac pro 2.66.

The video card has to be a PCI-e Mac version for it to work in OS X. Some people have flashed PC versions of cards with Mac firmware...not sure if this was successful for PCI-e cards but you can check over at strangedogs.com A standard PCI-e card should work as a second card if you're running Windows under bootcamp.

Yes, you can upgrade the video card. However only the 3 cards designed for the Mac Pro will work: the 7300GT you have, or one of the X1900s or FX4500s at the Apple Store. The PCIe graphics cards for the G5s will not work, nor will a generic off-the-shelf "PC" graphics card.

Looks like they let the domain expire and some squatter picked it up.
