I have access to a MDD Dual 1 GHz and a MDD Dual 1.42 GHz. For reasons that I will describe below, I want to swap the cpu's from one case to another. So can I put the CPU module of the 1.42 GHZ MDD into the case of the Dual 1GHz MDD? And vice versa?
If you want to know why I want to do this, read on, but that's my only question.
The reason that I want to switch CPU's is that I am having some problem with my Aurora Igniter PCI video system--this is used for video editing with Final Cut Pro. There seems to be some electrical interference in the video system that bleeds into the video signal. Aurora support indicates that my interference is happening inside my Dual 1 GHz MDD. And indeed, when I put the Aurora Igniter card into the Dual 1.42 GHz, I don't have any problems. But the Dual 1.42 GHz belongs to someone else at my office who doesn't want to give up the processing power. But I think I can convince them to switch cases.
