Motorola just released a pdf documenting all the erratas found in the 7450 series chips. I just skimmed through 5 of them and 2 of them note data loss.

The PDF is available here http://e-www.motorola.com/brdata/PDF...MPC7455CE.pdf.

I need 2 things explained to me.

1) Which speed chips does this affect (867, dual ghz?)
2) How serious are these errors? Am I going to lose data now?
Get FREE software, legally

just guesses as i'm no chip expert.

1) i assume they apply to all7455 and 7445 (do apple use these chips? i think they use 7450 and 7460 chips right?)
2) I don't think it means 'data loss' as in the iTunes2 installer 'data loss' more 'data in the cpu becomes corrupt and needs to be re-fetched from memory disk - data loss' my guess is you'll probably never notice.

if there was a chance that the cpu could wipe all the data on your drive motorola would recall all faulty cpus, therefore apple would recall our systems.

don't panic

if anyone know any better feel free to correct me.
