What is the equivalent of a middle click on a Powerbook Pro? I found the right click, but my experimentation has not located the middle click and I need it for Firefox.

There's no such thing as a PowerBook pro. Do you mean MacBook pro?

Yes. The people at the store where I got it kept calling it a PowerBook.

Holding the Apple key and clicking should give you the standard middle click behavior (open link in new window/tab) in most web browsers.

Incidentally, the top item in Finder's sidebar says "Powerbook Pro".

Thanks very much. That does not work with bookmarks, or the throbber, or the home button, however.

What is the Finder's side bar? Is that what you named your hard drive? There is nothing called a PowerBook Pro.

The Finder window has a separated pane on the left side. The first item in there is "Powerbook Pro", the second is "Macintosh HD". There is a line under those, and under that is the user home directory, Desktop, Applications, Documents, Movies, etc. The right hand pane shows the content of whatever directory is being viewed. The computer was set up and checked over in the store before I picked it up. Maybe the fellow who set it up did that?

You probably have two drive partitions named "Powerbook Pro" and "Macintosh HD." Do two drives show up on the desktop?

He named his computer Powerbook Pro (apparently). The topmost icon in the Finder's sidebar is the computer icon (looks like an iMac G4). Under that (unless he's moved around the items) will be the boot hard drive, who's default name is "Macintosh HD."

That is correct. I was not the one who named the top item, however. That was done in the store. I suppose I could change it from an admin account?
