Hello,
Bit of an eclectic q. here:
I am setting-up a friend's PS2 for network play.
He has a Windows XP home Laptop that he connects to the net via a DSL USB modem.
His flatmate has an old Pismo.
I tried for two days to get Windows ICS (internet connection sharing) to work so that the XP laptop would 'feed' the ps2 the internet over a cross-over enet cable. It appears very simple (just a few checkboxes to tick) - but it never worked - The PS2 (and my laptop, which I used as a test machine) - would not get the DHCP settings from the windows laptop.
In the end I got angry and tried with the Pismo powerbook sharing the DSL connection - it worked, but again, other machines would not pick up the correct DHCP info.
In the end I stuck to using the Pismo - but set up the PS2 to use Static IPs.
Does anyone have any idea why DHCP seems not to work? ....
Thanks,
Digs.
