Hi,
Recently my G4 started crash with a kernel panic after being awake for 3 to 4 minutes from deep sleep. Initially I thought this was a random incedent, but it is occuring now with a pattern.

As far as I can tell, no new software or hardware was added. Only modification I made b4 the patterns was to disable "put hard disk to sleep" option.

G4 would run fine, I would put to sleep, wake the Mac and it would promtly crash after 3 or 4 minutes.

I re enabled disk sleep, but Mac still crashes.
Did disk repair off OS install, permision repair. Unplugged USB hub. Still crashes

Any ideas?

This is the error message:

Could be the SATA PCI Card?, I can not see there any hard disk attached to it, just two PATA Maxtor, is that right?

If you, as it seems, can reproduce the kernel panic, Apple would like to hear from you.

I have submitted crash reports from the desktop after every crash, but will visit the site too.

I have 2 SATA drives attached to the SATA card. It is SIIG PCI card.
Not sure why the drives show up as PATA in the report though. They are SATA for sure.
I checked in Disk Utility, they are reported as ATA interface too. One of the SATA drives is being used as boot drive and according to Disk Utility it is Disk 1 and Disk 0 is being used for data storage. Shall I swap the disks or it does not matter whether Disk 1 or Disk 0 is being a boot drive.
Cheers
Andy
