1) Both of McCain's skits seemed to go well. Who knows if anyone is swayed one way or the other at this point, but it was enjoyable to watch. The QVC skit was better than the Weekend Report IMO.

2) The skit about Olbermann was hilarious. I'm sick of his over the top Special Comments.

I think that McCain skits showed a different side of McCain which is good. He is human after all. I may not want him as President, but I think he's a good guy.

I don't think that the skits did him any favors either. The QVC skit while funny, was making fun of his whole campaign. The whole Palin going "rouge" bit was great btw.
The Religious Right is neither.

Tina Fey was way way funnier than McCain.

I liked the McCain skit, but thought the Olbermann skit sucked. What was with the Nicholas Nickleby accent?

I was surprised that McCain did so well - the weekend update news segment was particularly funny. I think it was the first time he actually looked relaxed and in good spirits. Well, good for him. I wouldn't be surprised if this gained him a few points in the polls, if temporary.

The Olbermann skit was over the top, which I think was the point, though it kind of ran into the ground at the end.
Making fun of the dramatic camera angles and instant-on rage was great imo.

I'm not. He's always done well when he's visited the Daily Show.

I didn't think the jokes were that bad, though they could have been better, Olbermann is fertile territory for mockery. I was more aghast at Affleck's delivery.

Olbermann mentioned SNL was doing a skit about him, and I assumed Hammond would do the impersonation. I think that would have been much funnier, even with the same script.

I felt he was kind of stiff there. Last night he was loose as a goose!

Well, Affleck is one of the worst actors of our time. An by "one of the worst," I mean the worst. And by "our time," I mean "all time."

Matt Damon resents that comment.

The Olbermann skit was HORRIBLE. It was a good impression, but there was no. funny. and it dragged on for an hour or three. The first half of the show was pretty unbearable. It got a bit better though.

The Olbermann skit was more true than funny.

Most of SNL is horrible. The Tina Fey bits are so funny that it just makes it even more obvious how not-funny the rest of the show is.
