Apple has made some changes to its senior management today, with some new additions to the team alongside some other role alterations. Jeff Williams has been named as chief operating officer, Johny Srouji is becoming the senior vice president for Hardware Technologies, Tor Myhren will be joining the company next year as vice president of Marketing Communications, and senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller is being given the extra role of leading the App Store teams.

Joining Apple in 1998 as the head of worldwide procurement, Williams became the vice president of Operations in 2004, and oversaw Apple's entire supply chain, service, and support since 2010. Williams also played a "key role" in the launch of the iPhone, and also supervises development of the Apple Watch.

Srouji has been the vice president of Hardware Technologies for almost eight years, with his status now changed to senior vice president. He has worked on many important components across Apple's entire ecosystem, and is credited with leading development of the first Apple-designed system-on-chip, the A4.

Schiller is being tasked with focusing on "strategies to extend the ecosystem Apple customers have come to love," leading the majority of developer-related functions at Apple. This new role is on top of his existing responsibilities in Worldwide Product Marketing, international marketing, education, and business marketing.

In the first calendar quarter of 2016, Myhren will join Apple from Grey Group, an advertising agency where he served as chief creative officer and president of Grey New York. Responsibilities for Myhren include all of Apple's advertising efforts and leading the existing marketing teams. Myhren will succeed Hiroki Asai, who is retiring after 18 years working in graphic design and marketing communications roles at the company.
