OK, this is probably a pretty dumb question but what the heck. I'm having trouble getting my imac to recognize blank (Ridata 8x) DVD-R disks. I have my preferences set to open Toast 6 when a blank DVD-R is inserted and it fails to do so. When I change the setting to have the disk show up in the finder, it doesn't show up either. Instead, the disk just ejects.

I have a imac800 with Superdrive
Fully updated OS
Toast 6

Any ideas?

Nope. I'll try a different brand. What are the chances of a full 100 bad dvds?

If your drive doesn't like the brand, it's easy.
