The title says it all.

I don't know why he didn't engage 4X4 mode. I know some of you are going to chastise me for not going out to help him out, but I don't think he would have wanted help. We have drunk plenty a beer keg together, and he would be insulted if I went over there thinking he couldn't get out by himself.

I apologize for the cheesy iMovie sound effects. But I didn't think you'd want to hear my kids screaming as they played in the house.

And Doofy, I assure you, not all Jeep owners are like this. Actually, he's a bit like I'd imagine you to be if you lived here. Except for the stuck jeep part.

YouTube - Jeep stuck in 3 inches of snow

EDIT: Sorry for the bad title. It should say "My Souther neighbor gets his Jeep stuck in 3" of snow. [youtube video link]"

Excellent voyeurism skills. What other tapes have you got lying about? Care to share?
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

Some of the XJs were sold with RWD only (no 4x4, no transfer case, etc.). Maybe that's his problem?

Edit: Yes, it's a three door, so more likely to be RWD only.

The funniest thing is they also own a mid-90's Subaru. As well as a early 90's Dodge pickup, a '00 Mustang, and another POS

He he... He'd actually been going at it for five minutes or so... I had the camera out already video taping the kids.

Its got a 4x4 badge on it. Unless it is just for looks.

Sometimes he's hauling around his high school daughter and her friends... It's full of "chicks" then.

Yeah, but you see, not that many people want to drive a powerful station wagon with the same spokesman who does outback.

Michigan too. It has been an unusual winter. We usually have >10" of snow. It is enough to make me believe all of the global warming crud.

In the original video you can clearly see the front diff a second before that.

Hahaha, love the total ignorance of winter driving. High revs on a slippery surface?! Oh yeah baby!

Good stuff.

You should remove the video...or at least edit it and sensor the license plate (as someone on YouTube suggested)

I'm from North Carolina, so this is extra hilarious.

Also, Railroader, I am enjoying your lacy curtains.

I'm not sure why people are suggesting that you censor the license plate. It's not like we put tape over our license plates when we go driving around? Can anyone give me a real reason why you would need to do this?

Why? It's a publicly displayed item.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy it.

The lacy curtains came with the house. We are too cheap to buy new ones, plus they kind of go with the rest of the Victorianesque architecture. But mostly we are too cheap.

The only reason I would censor a plate is if it were mine. There are two people (that I can think of off the top of my head) on here who creep me out and have a strange obsession with me. But if my car was pictured on another site and there was no connection to me I'd have no problem with it being displayed.

Who cares about the effing plate? Anyone got a website that can tell me where someone lives based on their plate?

Didn't think so.

Search License Plate, Driving History, Verify Drivers License, License Plate Tag, Vehicle History, DMV Record, Driving Record

Your neighbours driving skills are impressive. How is it possible to get any car suck in 3"(!) of snow?

Wont your neighbour be upset that you've posted video of him looking like a dork on the tinternets?

I wouldn't really try to argue that SUV/4x4 driving goons don't deserve some public humiliation.

But, surely, posting video online of your neighbours looking silly, without their permission, is just ill-mannered?

This costs, at a minimum, $49.95 to do a search on a single license plate number. If someone is this determined to track you down, you have bigger problems than a picture of your license plate on YouTube.

You know, he drives his mustang a lot in the snow... Never saw him have any problems.

No, he'd probably laugh and email the link to his friends.

Exactly. But you know, I am getting PMS from some pretty paranoid people about this.

My typical reply:
I think my neighbor has a greater chance of being hit by lighting or a piece of space debris hitting him.
