I put a CF card in. I get import from camera says Epson 1660 (which is a scanner stangely enough).
I don't want to get his box. I just want hard drive to show. I drag images off that.
How get rid of this? thanks!

No offense, but what the heck are you talking about?

Are you saying that your camera uses CF cards and when you attach the camera (or a CF card reader) to your computer, it mounts as an Epson scanner?

I don't really understand what you're trying to say here.

I think when he plugs his CF card in, it opens Image Capture, which then defaults to his scanner. He just wants to drag files off the CF card instead of popping up Image Capture.

Then he must be a mind reader.

Assuming you have iPhoto, go to iPhoto preferences. On the General tab, change "Connecting camera opens:" to "No application" to simply mount the CF card on the desktop. Then you can drag images anywhere you want.

If you don't have iPhoto, right-click the "scanner" in the devices list in Image Capture and change the setting for "Connecting this [device] opens".

I do remember this nuisance years past and somewhere in image capture you would set, "don't open anything", but now I can't find that and don't even preference in image capture.
