I am going to sell my 15" power book 1.67 but I am wondering what should i do to remove any personal info off the system before selling. I have never sold a computer before and I am alittle worried about what to remove before it goes to a complete stranger. Any ideas what this thing would be worth with with a couple dings here and there from 2yrs of use?
Thanks,
Mike

The value is down to your location - in London you'd sell for more than New York or San Francisco. As for personal data, once you've transferred or backed up your information, I'd recommend a clean install of the OS.
Hope this helps?

You should clone your drive and then perform and Erase and Install of OS X. When you erase the drive you'll be able to do either a regular erase or to zero the drive, the second of which takes longer but essentially prevents any residue of your files from being recovered.

A reinstall of the OS would be what I would do too.

I just sold my 1.67GHz through Craig's List. Got a bunch of offers. However, I went with what seemed to be the safest offer (cash in hand). I got $900 for it to put towards my new MBP that I'll be buying around June 11th or 12th

A 1.67 will only be about 16-18 months old.

If it was a PC he wouldn't get $900

Yeah, it really isn't all that old. I purchased it in November of '05.

That sounds about right. I was going to ask $1000 for mine, same model, and still has a year of applecare plus RAM upgrade to 1 gig.
