PETA officials say a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health.
I beg to differ. Dairy cows quite enjoy their jobs.

I can see it now - farms of large lactating lasses surrendering their dew.

I'll stick to cow milk, thank you.

Yes. I don't eat meat/poultry/fish, so my crushing footprint is minimal and limited to milk.

Not surprising, given that PETA's general attitude is that animals are far superior to humans.

Ben & Jerry's will never go for that, not even as a PR move. I, for one, would never touch a dairy product made from human breast milk. That's just...gross.

I'll try it once, straight from the bottle, but it better be well-designed.

You wouldn't rather get it straight from the source?

My take on these off the wall Peta announcements is that they need to see themselves in the news from time to time, so that they are considered relevant. They'd rather see woman hooked up to milking machines in stalls then cows.

I generally ignore anything they say much as I do from greenpeace. Both organizations have lost (ever had?) touch with reality.

Now it's time to come up with flavor names...

Colostrum Fudge Swirl
Chocolate Nipple Chipple
Oral Fixation Creamy Celebration
Ba Ba Butter Rum
Mommie's Mint Chip
World's Breast Vanilla

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Pretty strange how that sounds fairly disgusting yet milk from a cow sounds just fine. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Warm would be gross. I've had chilled raw milk - very rich and creamy.

Both. From the "source" and from the bottle.

[GROSS] Let's just say, I once said, in a large group of people when my daughter was in her first year, that I would never feed the baby anything I'd never eat myself. This was in reference to jarred baby food that we were just switching her to. My wife later that night held me to my word. After seeing me gag, she tried it and gagged herself. [/GROSS]

Peta doesn't even know that Ben & Jerry are hardly involved with the company since it was bought by Unilever. That's pretty stupid. Well, never mind the whole concept is stupid.

They aren't trying to actually suggest it. They are making a demand so ridiculous that it will get noticed and draw attention to the actual problem. Which, in their mind, is the suffering of dairy cows.
