Anyone heard it yet? Their last singer, Matt Barlow, resigned from music because he wasn't into it anymore. Tim "Ripper" Owens took over.
If Anthrax had the best CD of 2003, then this is the BEST CD of 2004. Ripper is absolutely amazing.
yeah I'm rambling, but wtf.

I love that guy (and I know that interview well). Not only do I totally agree with him, I think he writes great music. He won't let it stagnate. There are so few bands like that.

I'm a massive fan of Iced Earth, and I have been for a long time.
However... the idea of them singing about American history and patriotism, with all those epic undertones, sickens me.
I won't listen to this album, unfortunately; I can't stomach the thought of it.

I guess I see it as an album about history. The 30 minute song, Gettysburg, is about the historic battle. Songs like The Red Baron and Atilla the Hun have little or nothing to do with this country. Valley Forge is not a patriotic song at all. It's quite the opposite.
Cipher, if you're a long-time massive fan of Iced Earth, this CD is the best music they've ever written. Don't deprive yourself of that. I'm a huge fan and this CD blows their whole back catalog away (IMHO). I'm not just saying that, because I'll say when I think a new album stinks (like the last Tea Party, yuck).
