I just tried tightening the hinge on my 17 ich 1.33ghz powerbook's screen after buying the kit to do so. When I put it back together, the machine won't turn on at all. When I plug the power cord in, the light around the socket turns green, so I'm assuming there is still some sort of life left in it?

Please help me, what should I do?

I'm certain I did. All I did was open it and tighten 4 screws.

Make sure you have all the cables connected firmly. Even if you didn't disconnect a cable, it's possible you jostled it.

The keyboard cable is the most likely culprit. The power button is routed through it, so the 'book wouldn't turn on if the keyboard wasn't firmly plugged in.
