I have an 15" AluPB 1.25GHz running 10.4.2, the combo drive recently crapped out on me. I saw this deal http://www.meritline.com/pioneer-dvr...ftware-pc.html and was wondering if there is any reason this won't work as a replacement for my dead combo drive. This is about 1/2 as much as it would cost me to get a replacement combo drive marketed as such. Any one had any experiences with this drive in powerbooks? or know of any reason it shouldn't work to pop it in and burn away?

Thanks
waiting this long for a new 15 will drive

i think it will not work as the drive is tray-based and not slot-loading. you'd only get that working by seriously messing up this beautifull piece of apple hardware.

have a look at: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/IDE/pb_g4...uperdrive.html
