I just started work yesterday as the new Mac tech guy here at one of the support buildings on campus. I'll be taking over from the current Mac guy who's graduation this fall. They set me up with a Dual 1GHz/1.5/2x80 that I can do whatever I want with here at work, and I've also got a G4/400 running Yellow Dog 4 and I'm about to start on my Dell P4 1.7 with XP. I basically sit around and fix a problem when it arises. My assignment for the next week is to "play with Boot camp." My boss bought a new Mini, completely loaded, just to use try out Bootcamp and other various ways of running XP. Pay is pretty good and I get 40 hours a week. Finally I'm getting paid to do something I like! Anyone else work in tech support?

I do tech support for a very large company. A handful of Macs in our chicago office, but 99% of the computers are windows XP.

I thought Macs didn't need tech support?!

Sounds like a cool job. I once got offered a similar position at a school I attended for digital publishing. I didn't take it though, because I couldn't stand the guy who ran the business.

If I change my way of living, and if I pave my streets with good times, will the mountain keep on giving…

Well the only problem we've had to deal with so far was an extra blank toolbar popped up in XP. So no mac has need support yet...

Cool, as the Macs are so nice trouble-free buddies, keep them clean and shining
