I didn't think I'd ever see the day. iCab has come out of what surely must have been the longest Beta ever [insert favourite Windoze joke here].

Wow... somehow I suddenly feel old

Great !
It is nice I can download just the PPC version besides the Universal version.
Not to mention that it is the browser of choice to anyone with old, venerable Macintoshes.

why would one download the ppc version only?...wouldnt it make the switch to a later intel machine easier. are there any performance benefits to downloading a ppc only ap vs its universal counterpart?

Honestly, I don't know if that could impact the performance, but it is half the size, which is all that matters with a crappy dsl line like the one I have.

Why would anyone use this browser? The only browser slower is MacIE.

I use to use it a lot in OS 9 and in the early days of OS X. It ruled back then since it allowed me to turn off the various javascripts and everything else. I haven't used it for a while, but I will definitely try it out and put it in my "Other browsers" folder.

I always thought it would be in beta until they came up with a new icon. Who wants that thing in the dock? It's even worse than the Adium duck.

I'm speechless.
I used to love that browser back on OS 9. If it had been actually out then, I so would have bought it.

It is quite surprising in a strange way, isn't it? It's like, uh... Longhorn coming out of Beta, or something; like something thought impossible suddenly happens.
Anyway, iCab still has its uses, at least for me. I quite like the granularity of the settings, i.e. what is JavaScript allowed to do, etc.
