Wow, that's WAY too simple for my tastes (but of course I post on a BB), I hope they make those folders (they were default right?) have the app icon and whatever icon so they aren't just generic folders.

That looks how it is supposed to look in my opinion. If I would want people to have access to only certain apps, and folders, that is all they would need to see.

You can make a new account and set it to simple finder only.

Yes those are the default folders (apps, docs and shared), though you can set which applications the user can activate.

Reminds me a lot of 'At Ease' if anyone remembers that...

That's not the kid's Finder, is it?
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

At Ease, and simple finder feel a good need. The people who hate it obvious don't have to run it so dont' worry about it. It is perfect now (jaguar) for kiosks, and areas where you don't want to babysit the computer but want public access to it. If your letting friends or family use a computer, i don't recommend simple finder, just use the features in jag to lock the dock, and specify which apps can be run, as well as what disc can be inserted. Simple Mode is brillant for a few certian needs.

Even for Simple Finder, this looks unfinished. Like they've started with clean slate and are adding elements one by one.

How do you navigate from, say, "My Applications" to "My Documents"?

Why no toolbar?

Why no "About this Mac"?

How does this work?

So this is the Freshly Frnklad Finder that the Swedish rumor site was talking about?

Well, I guess it's as they say; frnklad is as frnklad does. Though that app for hardware MIDI setup looks promising...

I will say, though, that I wish they'd adapted OS9's Tabs interface to OSX for their Simple Finder. That could look really good once it was fully Aquafied, and would give a nicer feel to the whole thing.

It makes no sense to have no Help menu. I'm just hoping that by GM, the Simple Finder will be frnklad-a-liscious.

WOW.

Under 'ultra minimalism' in the Dictionary, it now says "see Simple Finder".

Any less and it would be a command line! hehehe

This is all Interesting alteration sedan precedence report farm land along with.

One thing I really want is an easier way to open more than one finder window. I always find myself right clicking on the finder icon in the dock hoping that new window will be there. It seems like it should be.

Or just command-click (or, better, wheel-click) on a Toolbar item to open it in a new window. That's my favored method.

Yes, I realize that cmd n opens a new window. I said an easier way of opening a new window. I can close it, minimize it, zoom it, create new folders, move stuff to the trash, and burn discs from the finder window itself but have to go to the file menu to open a new window. If you have multiple finder windows open, right clicking allows you to navigate through them, it should allow you to open a new one as well. Maybe even close the one that has focus.
