Use Sorenson MPEG-4 Pro codec without Squeeze?

	Has anyone bought and used the Sorenson MPEG-4 Pro codec (with Squeeze MPEG4 or the Squeeze suite)? I wonder if it is possible to use the codec with other apps like QT player, Cleaner. (The Sorenson 3 Pro Codec works in all QT software once you've licensed it.) I can't get it to show in other apps, and I have not found a codec anywhere. There's this "Sorenson MPEG-4.sc" file inside the bundle that has a codec icon, but if I put that in the QuickTime Folder in /Library, the QT player crashes. Anyone else had more luck? TIA.
