I dated (and ultimately lived) with a girl that had her tubes tied. THAT was the best 4 years of my life. Now, with having to deal with the whole condom thing, or her being on the pill and the physiological and psychological side effects that come along with that again, I'm sooo sorry I ever let that relationship end.

Latex condoms are much superior to "natural membrane" condoms; the natural materials can pass viruses, while latex can't. There are newer condoms made of PVC-the "plastic" in the poll, which have the advantage of passing heat better than latex, though they aren't as stretchable as latex.
And remember that preventing pregnancy isn't the only reason to wear a condom. Even in a good, committed relationship.
