i bought a 1 gHz/superdrive TiBook in late April. the machine has been fine, except the case keeps spitting. top panel that holds the the keyboard and trackpad warped and had to be replaced, and now the bottom panel is warping. on top of that (literally), the right side of the LCD casing is starting to split. also, the battery is starting to not hold a charge. i'm starting to think that i got a lemon.
the machine has been lovingly taken care of and it resides in a nice hardshell aluminum case when i'm not using it. does anyone think there is any chance that Apple might just outright replace the machine? i used to have an HP jornada that had to be sent in for the screen to be replaced twice, and HP just outright replaced it with a new 3955 (since the Jornada was discontinued), so i know that some companies will do this. i know that Applecare generally has a good rep in the US, and i'm hoping that i won't have to keep sending the thing in for repair given that it is currently my only computer. thanks.
