Okay, while swapping the hard drive on my 17" PowerBook (1Ghz) I managed to ruin the sound cable. It looks like the ribbon tore away from the connector on the logic board end of the cable, leaving the actual connector still attached to the logic board. I have a few questions:

First, does anyone know what Apple or CompUSA would charge me to fix this? Replacing the cable is going to mean getting the broken connector (minus ribbon) off the logic board, and I'm nervous about monkeying around with the logic board.

Second, if I decide to replace the sound cable myself, what's the best way to remove the broken connector?

And finally, where's the best place to get a new sound cable?

Thanks!
