I'm very curious to see Lanham's theme...
For some reason, I think that many many themers have themes ready to be released simultaniously with SS 1.3
It's been all to silent around here lately, something's going on backstage...

Hasn't Exec been coming soon for a long time as well? Heck, I don't even remember what's it's supposed to look like.
I'm looking forward to NickelCobalt, Lutetium, Cathode, Calabi and whatever BBX has tucked away in that theme-to-be folder of his.

Exec was announced about the same time as X-Metal I think, which was ages ago. It's basically a black "powder-coated" version of X-Metal.
As far as I can remember, Max was supposed to be doing NickelCobalt, but it was all put on hold because of his IconFactory job. I hope some progress is being made - it was my favourite theme in the contest and I had almost forgotten about it. I really want Half-life from the contest too. Those mockups looked awesome. Anybody know what is going on with those?
The MacThemes contest has been a real anti-climax. Loads of awesome themes were designed, loads of really great themers signed up to make them, and from then on we've had little more than months of silence, dissapointments and excuses. I hope the (supposedly) imminent SS1.3 will bring a surprise rush of new themes.

It's unfortunate but so what? We have to respect these people immensely for their effort. (For me though, as long as I have Siro, I'm happy!)

EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES!
I'm sorry, but everybody involved in the MacThemes contest, everybody that submitted mockups, and everybody working to realize those mockups is a fat, selfish c0ck-teasing pig!
Only joking.
I'm not having a go at anyone, I'm just saying it's dissapointing to have pictures of beautiful themes dangled in front of you, promised a release roughly every month, and then hear absolutely nothing more about it for what seems like an ice age.
I'm not complaining, just expressing frustration of it all.

Cathode (final I'm currently a beta tester )
 NickelCobalt
 Calabi
I will be the happiest person in the world once any one of those come out (looks like Cathode's on the fast track at the moment) I've been using the various flavors of Aluminum Alloy for over a year now, and I'm just itching to find someone who has the same artistic talent as Max to pull me away from it. (Meaning, I'd kill for somebody to make a theme better than my-personal-favorite-of-all-time-AA, and those three have the greatest potential.)

Somatic, because I've see a glimpse, and I already know it's going to be my most used theme..
Calabi, I doubt I'll use it long though.
X-Metal, because I love anything from COTL Studios..
(Yaaay at LuGUI bein' on some lists! )

There are the ubiquitous list necessities:
Cathode: cause it is sooo hot, I mean sooo cool, so - - just kind a like that, amazing.
Nickel Cobalt: I keep going back to the preview OMG
Half-life: I know its evolved since the mockup but a metal armoured orange and black GUI - joy
but the "one" I am waiting for and I won't make any friends here or at work with this one is
Sweet Slumber, "the repulsive design by Daniel Goffin" [as quoted from Macthemes.net]

There will be a MacThemes contest winner released with the next version of ShapeShifter.
Additionally, there will be two other MT productions released the same day. Maybe that will keep you guys happy?

He did say on September 10th (about 3 1/2 weeks ago) that it was "about 2 weeks" away.
So presumably, unless there have been major problems, it should be imminent, seeing as it is already overdue. Maybe it has been delayed specifically to include some great theme! Let's hope so.

I do believe "2 weeks" is a generic time table that means "if everything goes right it's two weeks away" but I recall him saying there were a few fairly serious bugs that he couldn't track down and it would not be released until they're squashed.
Just you wait two weeks and ask again; it'll be two weeks from then

There was a fairly nasty bug that I had a bitch of a time tracking down. Spent about a week and a half on it and finally just nailed it two days ago. Text colors suck!!!
<checks bug list>
Homeworld 2 is crashing with ShapeShifter installed. That's all that's still on my plate. Aspyr has very kindly sent me a copy of the game to test against, so that should get nailed pretty fast.
There have been a lot of changes since the test team saw a build, so there will probably need to be about a two week test once that crasher's nailed.
It's getting close!
And yes, there will be few "featured themes" released along with it.
On a slightly different note, I had one of those alpha-waves-flowing-sixteen-hours-without-moving hacking sessions yesterday with very nice results. I don't think any of the results will show up in this upcoming release, but a lot of stuff that couldn't be done just became do-able as a result.
Sorry about being vague - I'm excited about it.

If I remember correctly, you figured out how to disable the menubar shade, right? It's subtle changes like that which will make theming a lot more fun in the future!

I tend to agree... But I'm not even going to expect it to ever come out, it gets really old stressing over it.
LutetiumGUI looks really nice. Calabi is going to be killer if it's ever finished. Cathode will be sweet once it's polished and some text colors are worked-out. I look forward to finishing Vette and using it myself also.

smeger: you need a ShapeShifter "to do list" kinda like my Avenger to do list only cooler looking and you could make things vague to keep it secret.
example:
1)...Big bug #1... 50% fixed
2)...Included themes... 82% done
3)...re-work interface... 97% done
etc.
I'm actually kinda embarrassed to link my to do list because it is still using the crummy titlebar from the Avenger beta 0.1 (current version is 0.3). and its just a boring page to begin with.
I can't wait!!! Hurry!!! 16 hours?! 16 hours is for pansies!!! we need 37 hours!!! Keep up the good work.

I get that sinking feeling I'm going to be working on LuGUI three more weeks, get it out and then the SS update will arrive and I'll just have to spent another few weeks to use all the new features.

esXXI, why don't you just contact smeger directly, so you can be in sync with what's going on backstage?
I'm sure he can share a few tips and secrets so you don't have to redo your theme all over
