No, because of Gmail and Google Calendar.

Yes, because Google lied to my face when I applied for a job there. They called me for a phone interview, and then said they'd send me a questionnaire to fill out. After that work, I found out that I was applying for a contractor job (read: hourly with no insurance/retirement benefits) with a third party and would work as such for three to twelve months, after which I wouldn't be guaranteed a job. I also found out, after some Googling (ohhhhh the irony there...), that for these contractor-type jobs, you pay all the expenses to travel out to California for several on-site interviews, after which you're more than likely not going to even get the contractor job in the first place.

It was just shady business to me. When I found out what the deal was, I told the guy who was in contact with me that I couldn't afford to move out to California for a shaky job that could possibly leave me unemployed after an undisclosed period of time. He told me that "the interview is for a contractor position that will become a full-time position with Google", and I never heard from him again.

I personally think that Google has some unethical business practices (anyone recall when Google's news aggregator was filtering out anything that was too politically conservative?), and I'd rather just avoid them altogether.

But I haven't found an email service that works as smoothly as Gmail, and Picasa is a damn fine program.

I use Google, but if it disappeared, something else would pop up and replace it.

I don't care.

I feel I must wean myself off anything Google. They have become much to mainstream and successful. How on earth can one maintain their "cool factor" by contributing to such a blatant group of capitalists.

I used yahoo maps for a while when I found out that they had multiple point routes. Now that Google maps has multiple point routes I'm back on there.
Yahoo search does an okay job of results, so maps and searching can be done.

I have GMail for my domain which I'd have to point back to my hosting and find a (better than squirrelmail) webmail client.

Other than those 3 things I don't use google search all that much. I think I could, but I can't be bothered.

No. Yahoo was always and still is dreadful. Although I still google babelfish to translate things.

Google maps is the best. Otherwise, I only use Google search.

I find that Google search is the only one that gets me relevant results, all the other search engines are rubbish.

In olden times, I used to use those meta search engines because they appeared to be the best. As time progressed and we entered the current millennium, it gradually dawned on me that all the relevant results I got were pulled from Google, so I stopped using the meta search engines.

So, yes, I'm addicted to Google as a search engine. I'm ashamed of myself, this just isn't right.

Ahaha my mother does the exact same thing. I once tried to explain to her that you can use the address bar to type in URLs, and she was like "I don't care. I've always done it this way and I don't want to change."
