Wait A Second... The display did look really washed out... but then I calibrated, everything was fixed and it's very high contrast now.

I just got my mini, I'm using a Benq fp731 with vga, at 1280 x 1024 and 75 hz, it was bright and clear right off the bat. I didn't even have to do any calibration.

Thats because your Dell CRT is a POS.

WTF? It's just fine, looks as good as my iBook's built-in LCD, and our Sharp LL-T17A3H (running Windows or Mac.)

The iBook's LCD is also dim and of poor quality! Apple users raise your standards!

Somehow, I think the first step in us raising our standards would be to kick out the annoying trolls.

Have no issues with the wife's 12" iBook LCD - and it's almost 3 years old. It's not dim or of low quality. And I use a Thinkpad a31 with a 1600x1200 display for work and both are of excellent quality.
