iTunes 7 should play everything iTunes 6 does. Can you explain what exactly your problem is?

Actually, no, not many people have problems with iTunes 7. Some have though-look in the Applications forum for more info, since, while it works directly with your iPod, iTunes is an application.

you'll need to install the latest quicktime 7 software to play the m4v files.... it works together with itunes....
perhaps some of the m4v files also may not meet ipod specs in terms of bit rate, audio format, video format, and dimensions. You'll need to use either iTunes, QuickTime, or another program like iSquint to make it conform to iPod requirements....

I had a similar issue and all i have done is get back to the old version. I just fixed my Itunes after downloading the new version tonight. Follow these steps exactly if you would like to revert back to older version.
1) Uninstall the current version.
2) Restart to complete process.
3) Download V6:
Apple - Support - Downloads - iTunes 6.0.5 for Windows
4) Run the Install.
5) Locate this directory: C Documents and
Settings\My Documents\My Music\iTunes and look for
the file named "iTunes Library.itl" and change the
name.
6) Go to "Previous Itunes Libraries" folder which
should be located in the same directory. Inside wil
be another "Itunes Library" with a date next to it.
It was created by V7 when you upgraded. Copy that
file to where you changed the name of the other file
and rename it "Itunes Library.itl"
7) Launch Itunes and your music should as perfectly
as before.
this should Work like a charm but make sure when you go to the page to download the older (working) version, at the bottom you need to click the 36MB link to get the right one and ignore all the blab

Download the latest and greatest drivers for your video card and itunes should play the videos.
I had downloaded itunes 7 and had the problem that .m4v files wouldn't play. I would get an orange/green flashy screen. But as soon as I updated my video driver it worked and played back fine.
PC ONLY-- But of course this isnt a problem with the mac
