Hello, I am under the impression that when you use iTunes to download album art, that it isn't actually embedded into the file, but saved it another directory and linked?? Do anyone have a suggestion for the best way to actually have the downloaded art embedded into the music file, or will I just need to do this manually? I have had little luck thus far finding a solution that works. Thanks in advance!

Edit: nevermind, misread the question.

It seems like when you manually add album art, it is embedded into the file. So it will take longer, but what you can do is find the album art online, and then manually add it to the song/album (Get Info on it and Add Artwork.)

He knows that.

The question is whether it will have to be done by hand, or whether it can be automated.

Looks like Doug To The Rescue - this script *might* fit the bill: Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes ♫ Embed Artwork v1.1

Thanks for the replies! I am not sure how I missed Doug's script... What was I searching for to not be able to find that?! I'll give it a shot, and hope and pray that it works... It hasn't been updated in a while, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

The script seems to do this, but for the record, how to do it manually: Select an album, Get Info on it, then cut the artwork and paste it back. That will embed the artwork into the actual file.
