I had posted this in the Mac OS X forum a few weeks ago but got no replies. Hopefully someone in the networking forum knows the answer.

I'm having a hard time enabling an old iMac as a server so I can designate it from Apple Server Admin as an xgrid controller. Does it have to have OSX server edition to be an Xgrid controller or can standard OSX be enabled as a server to run an Xgrid controller without additional software?

Is there something I'm missing here?

I'm not 100% sure, but I know when using Server Admin on a OS X Server box, there's an Xgrid service in the list of available services. Will Server Admin even connect to a non-OS X Server box? I've never tried.
Thinking of buying a new Mac? My free ebook might help.
