i have an imac running OSX 10.3.5. I partitioned the harddrive a ways back. Now I want to allocate more memory to the partition I work from. I boot from the install disc and use disc utility and move the bar between the partition allocating more memory to the preferred partition, click on the little lock icons, and every time I restart the partion memory sizes are back the way they were. How can i allocate the memory between the partitions? Can I unpartition without losing the data in the partition I want to preserve?

I'm not aware of this process, i think you need to wipe your machine and do a full reinstall.
What are the pros/cons of partitioning anyhow?

Lots of previous threads on partitioning. My 2 cents: 99% of Mac users don't need multiple partitions but are used to it from Windows or OS9.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.
