My wife has recently inherited my (16 Gb 2G) iPhone, and we've been trying to get it set up for her to use. Somewhat mysteriously, something she seems to have done without noticing it has caused Safari to disappear! My impression was that nothing you could do could get rid of Safari, or YouTube, or the AppStore, or Stocks.... But she didn't even want to eliminate Safari. What might have happened, and how can we get it back?

If you're using 3.0, then you can try searching for it. But the easiest thing to do is just to restore it.

Try checking each app page since you cannot delete the default Apps. It is there, most likely the last page.

If you set parental controls to not allow safari, it will disappear.
Check those settings, as well.

Good call. I completely forgot about Parental Settings since I have never used them.

Right you are. That was the problem: just how or why she clicked on "off" for Safari under restrictions neither of us can reconstruct, but that's what happened. Thanks a lot -- I would never have found that.
